Così fan tutte
La Cenerentola (Cinderella)
Suor Angelica/Gianni Schicchi
and much more!

The 2009 Vocal Arts Festival was a great success.   We saw Michael Cavanagh's ingenious interpretation of Mozart's Così fan tutte set in a 1949 country club (complete with sauna) and Kim Mattice Wanat's updated version of Rossini's La Cenerentola (Cinderella) take place in modern day New York City with the Prince being a rock star.   Leading up to these fantastic mainstage operas, we had two nights of a wonder Puccini Double-Bill, several Song Soirées, Master Classes and other wonderful Enlightenment Events showcasing the talents of the wonderful students attending and giving all in attendance a preview of the next Canadian opera stars.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors and funders for helping make this year's festival a success.

And of course, we could not make this festival happen without the help of our volunteers for whom we are eternally grateful - whether they helped out at an event, opened their homes to some of our students, picked up a paint brush, or helped get something from point A to point B, they are stars in our eyes as well.
