Singers
|
The program is designed for Canadian singers
who are of advanced standing with substantial
prior training. Three-week intensive participants
may have little or no role experience but
it is expected that five-week intensive participants
will have some previous role experience. Preference
will be given to applicants who are undergraduates
or graduates of music programs but this in
not a requirement of the program. |
Pianist/Coach |
The program is designed for
pianists who are of advanced standing with
substantial prior training. Applicants can
be from Canada or the United States. It is
acceptable if the skills to be presented in
this program are entirely new, however, the
pianist should have considerable experience
as an accompanist. Preference will be given
to applicants who are undergraduates or graduates
of music programs but this in not a requirement
of the program. |
Audition Requirements |
Singers |
NEW REQUIREMENTS:
Singers will be required to prepare 4 selections for the audition:
Three arias ( French, German, Italian or other ) - You may choose to substitute an Artsong for one of these arias, but three different languages and three different styles must be represented!
In addition singers must prepare a musical theatre selection from the standard repertoire in English or a contemporary English aria for the audition.

Pianists |
Pianists must audition with
a vocalist. The piano applicant will be required
to accompany one operatic aria and two selections
from the standard song repertoire. The applicant
will be given an operatic excerpt to prepare
and an art song to sight-read. |
Fee |
The audition fee is $50 and
is non-refundable. |
