What is an Opera NUOVA Dinner Cabaret?
It is a special evening event that combines fine food, beautiful music and time to share with friends. We choose six exquisite dining venues and select featured performers who created a fusion of musical styles, thematically woven together to create events that delight all types of music connoisseurs. Each features a five-course meal with music sets between each course. The end result is the European tradition of the intimate dinner cabaret.
When do the cabarets take place?
The cabarets are usually held on the last Sunday of the month and begin in the fall. See the schedule below for detailed dates.

TIMMS CENTER FOR THE ARTS LOBBY
SHAKESPEARE IN SONG
Perhaps the most renowned wordsmith of the English language Shakespeare has inspired musicians for centuries. Operas have been penned to his poetry by composers from Gounod to Verdi to Britten.
There are also many Artsongs that uniquely capture the nuance and rhythm of his verses. Finzi, Korngold and Thomson all capture the essence of Shakespeare in his native tongue while Faure, Chausson and Strauss lend other colors to his words in translation. This cabaret program featuring artists from the summer intensive program will demonstrate the breadth of styles inspired by the Bard.
